Trend Roundup- The Best of 2016 in One Series – Part 1
It’s been a while that we have worked extensively on fall 2016 and summer 2016 collections and trends. We have picked up the best from both seasons, and we know you liked it as much as we loved creating it for you. Having said that, we are almost on the wait for spring 2017 runways shows, and it is the right time for a recap. This is going to be a very special series in two parts, where we will cover the best runway trends that are most WEARABLE this year. Here’s all you are going to need, especially when you are on a budget.
Stripes are here to stay: Has to be our personal favourite this year, and in all likeliness, you will see more of stripes in 2017, as well. In the recently revealed Resort Collections, there were a whole range of stripes, which were meant to rule, while in 2016, the looks were more about bold colours. If you are looking for that one trend worth spending on, this can be the one by all means. Keep in mind that stripes will always be on the forefront of fashion, so there is no way that you can go out of vogue. Look for dresses, outerwear or even a simple suit for work- the choice is yours.
Rose shades are on: Fall 2016 had a lot of amazing softer shades, and pink ruled the ramp by many means. Even in the fashion makeup squares, there were a lot of rosy pink shades, created the perfect pink. We all know of the essential fall colours, so this might look like a more fun but edgy trend for sure. However, you need to find the art of balancing. Tibi had some amazing rosy-pinky shades for their collection, and there were softer tones of pink in Alexander Wang. If you are someone who doesn’t mind the colour for any season, you can even get inspired from fuchsia as seen at Altuzarra.
Love for pleats and ruffles: While pleats are anything but new, 2016 had a lot of functional and sculptural pleats, mainly in the spring. If you are fond of safe treats, this has to be your pick of the season. Look for anything like a pleated skirt or a complete dress, the choices are many. What’s even more engaging is the fact that you can play with a lot of colours. Equally popular were ruffles, which emerged like a matched accessory on almost every other big collection. The good thing is you can find a lot of ruffled tops and dresses in a number of online stores, and that ensures you are never off budget. Ruffles and pleats are more functional elements in a dress, so you might want to check the accessories. After all, a chaotic look can ruin it all.
