Things Not Worth Missing From Fall 2014 Trends!
We had two dedicated posts that talked about most trends from the Fall/Winter 2014/2015 ready-to-wear collection, buy did we miss out on anything? Well, it seems there were some more funky and unique elements from the designers that have not been given space when we talked about trends in the last post. Here’s why you still are missing with reasons on why a shopping trip is worth due.
Colours, colours and more colours: This is probably one trend that you would thank the designers and fashion labels for! After all, the dark and moody colours of the fall are so passé! Welcome to Fall/Winter 2014/2015, where we have a pop of so many bright colours that we are spoilt for choices. While brands like Dior went on for completely bright, others like Emilio Pucci, Narciso Rodriguez and Altuzarra went for a burst of bright hues. Anyone would like the shades, especially when teamed with amazing dark array of fall colours.
More on the stunning prints: In the last two seasons, both summer 2014 and fall 2013, prints were very much around. In fact, the interpretations were so different that one would think of picking one item from each designer and label. For the current season, the prints seem to return, only in more graphic tones. Check some looks from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Kenzo, Chanel and Peter Pilotto. It’s stunning to find that even in prints, our fashion gurus have not shied away from colours. There are more colours in prints than anywhere else, while some like Acne Studios and Rick Owens opted to go for black and white for the prints.
Get ready for more Normcore: Talk of the memes that made way to the runways this season and Normcore is something you would like to adopt. Getting normal and being completely hardcore- that’s Normcore to be short for those who don’t know! As for the designs, we had some really good elements to check. The loose tailored looks have gone for a toss with many designers, who are making our comfort formal suits roomy like Hermès. Others like Max Mara, Christophe Lemaire, Hugo Boss and Theory chose to keep things easy. If you check with other collections like that of Christopher Kane, you will find that the idea is to be a part of the crowd and yet retain the sense of Fall 2014!
Going retro with more charm: The fall trend of 2014/2015 about 60s is not gone yet, and we already have some new ideas coming from the Paris. Designers have gone retro, and the inspirations are vividly different from one another. Some of the looks that really created a stir include Gucci, Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford and Miu Miu. However, many may agree that the Valentino look worked the best in the retro form, mainly because colours, design and cut worked all together.
Get started with your final fall shopping because the spring 2015 trends are waiting to arrive with a bang very soon.
