The Second List of Best Trends from Resort Collections 2016
In a very special post last time, we talked of some of the best trends from Resort Collections 2016. As the curtains are down for the first collection of 2016, we scan some more to find the best trends and offer the greatest tips for a fresher look next year. Here are some more trends from Resort collections 2016.
More experiments with the fur coat: For fall 2015, we had some great choices in fur, although we have voiced our opinion for against use of fur many times. No matter whether you give a nod to the material or not, it doesn’t matter as there are faux options too. The new trend is all about using fur in more fun way, using prints, colours and beyond. There’s a sense of style to the look for sure, and you will love the use of shades and bright colours. For some ideas, you can check the collections of Proenza Schouler, Burberry Prorsum and Bottega Veneta. Quirky in a good way it seems!
Back to black and white: One of the best trends of Resort Collections 2016 is the mix of black and white. Remember how this trend came to the forefront along with blue and white mix for spring 2014? The same returns and many designers have come up with prints and mixes that are interesting to look at. If you are searching for ideas, Edun, Calvin Klein Collection, Acne Studios, and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi has some good things to check. Keep an eye for stripes, minimalism and all other ideas of funky designs.
Softer shades of blush: If you are looking for that one colour from the Resort Collections, it has to be blush, which has easily emerged out to be the new white for the first season of 2016. We are likely to see more of the colour in days to come, and it’s a worthy match for a fresh look. The designers worth checking include Jason Wu, Max Mara, Narciso Rodriguez and Versace. The shade has been used in almost everything, starting from the simple slip-in dresses to fur coats and tailored suits, and that ensures a lot of scope for experimenting more with different hues and shades of the colour.
Block and many colours: Effective, elegant and truly bold in many ways, the new trend is all about colour blocking and using as many colours as possible. The trend was spotted in a number of outfits at top designers like Sonia Rykiel, Red Valentino, J.W. Anderson and Thom Browne. When you have too many colours syncing together, who wants a monotone look anyway? You can probably design your own dress this time.
Also worth mentioning on this list is the coming off-shoulder looks, which were a major hit at many shows, including that of Christopher Kane, Camilla and Marc, and Givenchy, and you can make the most in your own way.
In the upcoming posts, we will have more ideas for 2016. Keep an eye on this space for more.
