The New York Spring 2015 Trend Roundup – Part 2
Some trends for Spring-2015 are worth vouching for, or at least we found some striking new things in the special cities. Last time when we had talked of the New York Spring 2015 Trends, we did mention on how differently the kimono was given a twist and how the gingham chose to repeat itself in a series of designer collections. In the second round up, here are some more trends that you would be shopping for the freshest season of the year!
Feeling blue with style: If black was your wardrobe favourite, think again! New York Spring 2015 shows us how the navy blue is the new statement. Many may argue that the trend isn’t entirely new. After all, we have seen navy blue in many seasons prior to this one, but what makes the new season special is the way the colour has splashed across several runways. Starting at Marc Jacobs where we saw some really happening jumpsuit in the colour, to Jason Wu, The Row, Edun and Prabal Gurung who had new elements to show, there was ample blue!
More colour with suede: The suede has been making rounds in other fashion cities, as well, but at the New York Spring 2015 collections, colours were worth checking for. From the pale yellow to the navy blues and greens, there were colours for everyone. Designers like Jason Wu, Michael Kors, and Ralph Lauren went for darker shades while at the collection of Tommy Hilfiger, we saw a pop up maroon shade that was too subtle and essential. Ideally, if there is one fabric that should make a space in the closet for the coming season, suede is the one. There are faux options, so don’t settle for leather if you are not into it.
More of the cool vest: The old school vest was interpreted in a number of ways for spring 2015. Whether as the simple vest at Reed Krakoff to acting an overcoat design at Rag and Bone, there were quite a few highlights worth loving. We also spotted the many designs at Thakoon, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Opening Ceremony, and Tory Burch. While the design can be quite debatable on whether it sticks to the conventional cut, but the new ideas worked well and should make way to the shelves of your favourite store soon.
All white and washed! If you have kept an eye on Menswear trends for spring 2015, you must have checked on how the all-white look was quite happening out there. Among the other trends of New York Spring 2015, the one that deserved a mention is the all white look that was spotted at Dion Lee, Marc by Marc Jacobs, J Mendel and DKNY. Whether it’s the tunic on slim fit trousers or the designs that are ensemble from layers of clothing, there is an element of simplicity that ruled the all white look.
Have your fun while shopping!
