The Incredible Guide to Resort 2018 Trends – Part 1
What’s amazing about the fashion industry is the quest for new things. We hardly absorb the trends of one season, and the next one comes to the forte. So, in the last few weeks, we have been covering the best of fall 2017. We thought we had a lot more to do, but the Resort 2018 collections are here, and it’s time to hunt for the best trends again.
In this very special series, we will try to understand the best trends from Resort 2018 collections. Before that, I must mention that Resort collections are usually very versatile, so no matter what kind of styling ideas you like, there’s something that will definitely fit your bill. Without much ado, let’s get started, because there’s a lot to cover!
Ring the bell: Well, the bell bottom pants and trousers have a very retro vibe, and despite so many new skinny fits, this one keeps coming back. In Resort 2018 collections, bell bottoms were pretty evident, and honestly, I love the idea. Oscar de la Renta, Cushnie et Ochs and Valentino were some of the designers/labels who worked with this trend, and this looks fascinating, no matter whether it’s summer or fall. You can pair these trousers and denims with a nice button down top or a cropped tee – the choice is yours. Since this is more like a classic now, you can always invest in more than one pair.
Show your shoulders: Designers seem to love the shoulders for styling. Last year, we had seen a lot of cold shoulder outfits, and a year before that, we had some amazing off-shoulder tops. This time, the Resort collections had a lot of ‘bare the shoulder’ looks. Some of the designers you need to check for this trend include Giorgio Armani and Tanya Taylor. Don’t have the money to spare on this new trend? Never mind! Just take a nice button-down shirt and unbutton a couple of them on the top. This is an easy idea that should work for all women, regardless of their size!
More of denim: Denims returned to the runways in vogue, and this time, the options were many. Right from the distressed styles to bell bottoms, denims were everywhere. The colour palette was equally fun, and you can also see some of the fun light-coloured denims in shorts and with patches. If we had to pick one trend from the entire Resort collection, this would be the one. Full-on denim looks were completely viable, and you can surely experiment with the pieces that are already in your wardrobe. In any case, you should have three things in your closet, regardless of the trends and season, – A nice denim jacket, a pair of flared denims and a denim dress.
Hope you liked this post, and in our next, we have some more trend picks from Resort 2018 collections. Feel free to share your feedback, and we will be happy to take your views on this blog.
