The Best Trends from Fall 2017 Fashion Weeks – Part 3
In our last two posts, we have initiated a series for fall 2017. We talked about the winter floral prints, the amazing use of red and many other things. Taking the idea ahead, we have more amazing trends from the runways of fall 2017. Feel free to check our previous posts, and for now, we have some more ideas below.
Feather, feather and more: Feather-inspired designs were a major takeaway from fall collections. You will find all sorts of outfits – complete dresses, skirts, suits and more. What’s fun is the amazing use of contrasting elements and colours in different collections. There was no subtlety anywhere, and surely, this is not something for everyone. Check the shows of Calvin Klein, Balenciaga, Sonia Rykiel, Lanvin and J.W. Anderson to know more. You can try a few minimal looks, as seen at Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel.
Polka is back: Who doesn’t love polka dots? The idea is usually reserved for the spring, but probably we are back to trying new things. Polka dots are easy to wear and can flatter any kind of shape and body. You can try separates, complete gowns, dress, or anything you like. Top names like Loewe and Balenciaga worked with black and white polka dots, while there were similar ideas at Maison Margiela, Jacquemus and Altuzarra. If you like over-the-top ideas, you can try giant polka dots as seen at Marques Almeida or print-mixed polkas as spotted in the show of Giambattista Valli.
Inspired by lingerie: In 2016, we had sleepwear for spring. There were also many lace-inspired designs that gave way for more experimentation. This year, you will see more lingerie-inspired ideas for the fall. You don’t need o fear the cold anymore, because these are blazing in style! At Louis Vuitton, it was all about separates, while Stella McCartney worked with see-though materials to show the style underneath. The use of lace was also evident in the collections of Saint Laurent, Olivier Theyskens and Ann Demeulemeester. You can try simple dresses or go for tops and blouses that have similar ideas.
Borrowed from the boys: Many designers also used a lot of masculine elements to regular pantsuits and formal wear. The idea is to make things manly yet appealing. We love the thoughts at Céline, Jil Sander, Versace, and Jacquemus. If you take a close look, you will find the extreme focus in broad shoulders and bigger sizes. This is something that anyone can try, without spending a lot. You can talk to your local store for getting a suit stitched for your needs or can directly buy options online. In fact, you can mix and attempt new looks by trying separates. Add a nice handbag and you are ready for the corporate meeting!
We hope you enjoyed this post. We intend to cover more of fall 2017 fashion in weeks to come, and we look ahead to write more on accessories, shoes and handbags. Until then, stay in style and keep following our blog for more!
