The “Best of Spring” – Shoes for Every Girl – Part 1
So, the countdown to the ultimate spring lists has already started, and if you have followed our blog, you already know that we have enlisted some of the biggest trends of spring 2017. This time, we are starting off our series called the ‘Best of Spring’, and the first series of posts will be just about shoes. If you are someone who cannot shop for the closet without looking at the runway trends, you should keep an eye on the weeks to come. For now, here are the best trends in shoes for spring 2017, along with our tips to style these incredible ideas.
Ankle straps: Extremely strappy, singular and simple and even full of ruffles, ankle straps made a comeback to the runway in a variety of ways. If you remember the spring 2014 trends, you probably have seen something of this type, but ankle straps have been revamped in many ways. There were strappy looks seen at Altuzarra in a red-hot colour, then there were tying details at Derek Lam and Jason Wu, and simple singular straps at J.W. Anderson, Saint Laurent and Rodarte. Check online and you will find a lot of budget brands for your needs. The whole idea is to get attention to the feet without trying too hard, and we believe that this trend has succeeded in just that. Take a shot in colours and play around the tying details, if you want a feminine appeal.
Flatforms: In many of our posts, we have mentioned how flatforms are one of the nicest and comfortable heel choices around. Flatforms are amazing for the sheer fact that you don’t need to compromise on the comfort and design, and the styling can be really different. For 2017, a lot of designers and brands worked with the idea in a variety of ways, adding charm to the classic. What’s even more fun is the way the trend has been interpreted. In fact, it isn’t anything new for the spring runways. While Balmain had glitter sandals, Dolce & Gabbana and Erdem played with unique colours like red and blue respectively, and if you need more ideas, you should see Salvatore Ferragamo and Maison Martin Margiela and Gucci.
Kitten heels: If you check the spring 2017 collections, you will find kitten heels in almost every other brand show. Céline, Chloé, Givenchy, and Jason Wu are leading names that you should see for this brand. Kitten heels, pretty much like the flatforms, are comfortable and yet don’t lose the feminine elements. There are just too many colours and styles that can be tried, and you can be easy with these heels even at work. Kitten heels look best when used in a simple style, such as ankle straps or simple mule design. The best way to experiment is add a pair in colours like black, blue, red, and white, which can be team with almost any look.
