The “Best of Spring” – More Handbag Trends from Spring 2017 – Part 5
In our last post, we started a series of trends on handbags, exclusively picked from the runways of spring 2017. This is a forward to the same, where we will talk of the bags you need next year. With the winter sale going on in every other shop, website, and mall, you might find some of the trends at a lower price. Of course, the fresh collections are yet to arrive at the store, but buying inspired trends isn’t a bad idea at all. Take a look at the other spring 2017 handbag trends!
Extra large: If the last trend was about minute and tiny handbags, this is the contrast you needed. Extra large handbags were a major hit on the runway and even in the backstage, and it is likely that you will see the trend everywhere pretty soon. The trend is all about bags that are oversized and jumbo in terms of looks and space, making them functional choices for anyone who likes to store their world with them. This can be a great choice for traveling and work, especially for carrying all things at the same time. Some of the shows/collections you need to see for this one include Balenciaga, Céline, Marc Jacobs, and Marni.
Print well: Bright coloured printed handbags were one of the other big trends of the season. These are very summer-like bags that work wonders when you want to do a bright look. You can choose to completely in contrast with the dress you are wearing or choose to match the elements. The whole idea is to look for colours that make an instant impression. We found some great ideas at Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Marc Jacobs and Loewe to name a few. Of course, not everyone played with colours, but there was something very funky about printed handbags this season, and you will find a lot of forms and styles to pick from.
Metallic finish: We loved the metallic finish handbags we saw a number of shows, including Marc Jacobs, Trussardi, Delpozo, Altuzarra, Kenzo and Versus. If you remember the spring 2014 trends, you probably would think of a similar trend, which was one of the major highlights at Lanvin. This time, the metallic touch is more obvious, and instead of going for gold and silver, there were a lot of other colours, which had been given a wash of the metal finish. This is one of those trends that are meant to rock your evenings and add glam to the parties and events. Make sure that you look for cross body and sling bags for the maximum feel, or else, you can choose to play with big totes, as well. The idea is to find a bag that works as a standalone accessory.
In our next post, we are again going to talk about handbags for the season. Hope you start shopping right away, and if you have any feedback, don’t miss on sharing the same with us. Until next time, be stylish.
