Resort 2018 Trends – The Best Picks – Part 3

Finally, we are down to our last post on resort 2018 trends. In the last two posts, we have covered things related to materials and colour palette, and we just found a few more ideas that are worth mentioning. Without a lengthy dose on why these trends will eventually matter for the rest of the year, let’s start with the most adorable picks.

Love Plaid

Love plaid: Plaids have been ruling the ramp for some time now, and we believe that this trend will continue for the seasons to come, as well. Just like fall 2017, resort 2018 collections had a lot of functional plaids in a wide range of colours. If you don’t have a plaid suit in the closet, this is the perfect time to get one. Apart from the power suits for the boardroom, you can also check for nice dresses, especially shirtdresses that have a nice and casual vibe.

Belts are back

Belts are back: Well, it’s been a while that we have seen belts as a major accessory on the runways, but thankfully, this time, we have some nice options in the resort collections. Belts for the season were more about colour blocking and wider designs, which kind of worked in a contrasted way with the outfits. This trend should work well for dresses and suits alike, and the good thing is you don’t need to invest in expensive options, as online stores have wider belts in a number of colours. Go for a bright pastel shade or something with colour and texture, and you are good to go.

Striped as always

Striped as always: Stripes seem to be the flavour of the moment. In spring 2016 collections, we had bold stripes in striking colours, while in spring 2017, the trend was more inclined towards leaner stripes. Resort 2018 collections had more vertical and lean stripes, which were easy to the eyes in many ways. From a nice jumpsuit to casual suits, you can find a lot of outfits in this trend, and there are some cheaper alternatives in local brands, as well.

Yellowish lady

Yellowish lady: Besides orange, yellow was one of the major colour palettes of the season, and we loved the idea of having varied kinds of yellows, from the pastel ones to bright out loud shades. Yellow is a universally flattering colour, as long as you choose the right shade. Don’t shy away from mixing two or more colours. A nice yellow A-line dress can be a perfect pick for the Sunday outing or you can also wear one to work, matched with a nice formal blazer.

We would also like to add that colour blocked outfits are here to stay, and you will see more mixed colours without prints in days to come. Hope you liked this post.
