New York Fashion Week Trend Picks For Fall 2016 – Part 2
In our last post, we were talking about the best trend picks from New York Fashion Week for fall 2016. We talked of some of the ideas, and in this post, let’s just take that ahead and find some more reasons to shop, style and get trendy!
Pinky girl: Off late, soft and pastel colours have been a regular for runways in most seasons. It all started in spring 2014 when pastel shades ruled the ramp all through, and since them, soft and more similar shades have been used sparingly by designers. For fall 2016, you will see a lot of pink, with shades that are more on the pinky-rosy-red side. The colour is feminine, and when you choose this for the outerwear stuff like trench coats and blazers, the look is just phenomenal. Honestly, this is one palette of colours that should work for all seasons, so you can even think of dresses and everything else. From The New York Fashion Week, you can check collections of Alexander Wang, Tibi, and Hugo Boss. Pink it all!
One shouldered: One shouldered designs make a serious comeback on the runways for fall 2016. Even in Spring 2016 collections, there was a singular trend that was all about bold shoulder designs, and for fall, the trend continues with the right changes. The idea is probably to create designs that are easy to the eyes and would accentuate the silhouette. No matter what your reasons are, you need to look for this trend in knitwear, sweaters and even outerwear like pullovers. Some of the designers that you can check include Zac Posen, J. Mendel and Baja East, and you can find similar choices even in online stores.
Fall tied: Fall 2016 will have a lot of tying details, starting from bow-attached dresses and blouses to more unique elements like flowing lean scarves and even kind of lean ribbon detailing. There is no denying that the trend works big time, for the fact that there is a feminine element attached to it, and for the dark colours and even fall essential looks, the style is pretty effective. Some of the best designers were spotted at Michael Kors, Jason Wu and Jill Stuart. Match your flowing synthetic material scarf in a matching style with your outfit or get an ensemble from the top designers – the choice is yours.
Jump dressed: Dresses with layers and jumpsuit like details were a major takeaway from NYFW. Many of the designers made the fall dresses much more versatile and practical at the same time, but adding a blouse and a more jumper like element. Of course, this isn’t an entirely new trend for everyone, but there is no denying that you can experiment with colours, prints and much more. For some quick fashion ideas and inspiration, check the collections of Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra and Milly!
In the next series, we will be talking about Milan Fashion Week trend picks for the fall, so keep an eye on this space for more!
