Handpicked Spring 2016 Trends From London Fashion Week- Part 1

Back with a bang! Yes, the most fun and fresh season of the year is around, and it is just the right time to unveil the best trends from spring 2016. Many of the fashion weeks have already ended amidst much anticipation, and this surely brings a lot of scope for finding new things! In this very special series, we will cover every special aspect of spring 2016. Before we move ahead to the quintessential trends, we will cover the best trends and ideas from the coveted fashion weeks. This week, we start with London Fashion Week.

Black is the new pastel

Black is the new pastel: For the last few seasons, we had plenty of pastels that were extensively used to replace the essential spring floral. If you thought that was just fun, this time around it seems black is the new colour of the season. In many spring 2016 shows of London Fashion Week, black was used in a number of different ways, but what’s exciting is the amazing use of textures, sheer materials, cut-outs and much more. Think of a little show-off as with David Koma or body hugging ensemble as with Julien Macdonald- the choice is yours.

Return of floral

Return of floral: Many ladies missed the essential spring floral last year, and it seems the designers have paid attention! Many shows at this prestigious fashion week had use of extreme delicate floral prints, which worked as the perfect replacement for the essential big graphic printed ideas and maxi floral prints. The new age floral prints are much more feminine and have the essential uniqueness of the spring, making this among the easiest trends to pick for 2016. Some ideas can be checked at Topshop Unique, Peter Pilotto and Preen.

Sparkle for the evenings

Sparkle for the evenings: Glittery and sparkling outfits were a complete hit at London Fashion Week, and it is extremely essential that you invest in one of these amazing designer collections. Glitter for spring isn’t entirely a new thing. Lanvin came up with their unique take on metallic and glitter trend some time back, which did have a good feel. However, these are more meant to be the ultimate outfits, and we promise you will find each one interesting enough. Some of the best ideas came from Gareth Pugh, Maison Margiela and Temperley.

In our very next post, we will cover some more things from London Fashion week. Till then, you have a lot to experiment with, and we ensure that you will never miss the fun! To end it up, here’s our little info on the much famed fashion week.

Quick trivia: London Fashion Week started off in 1984, and since then, it remained one of the four major fashion weeks, including the ones at Milan, Paris and New York. This big event, organized by British Fashion Council, happens every year in September and February, when some of the most coveted and desirable designer houses and iconic fashion designers show off their collections. No wonder, you might just want to book your tickets in advance for February next year!
