Complete Check on Fall/Winter 2014-2015 Trends- Series 1
It has only been days that the summers arrived, and the fashion squares are already buzzing with the trends of Fall/Winter 2014-2015. Keeping the current trends and rules in mind, our team would be covering all the glamorous elements of the upcoming season, giving you the complete control on what to shop for your wardrobe. Starting from the basic runway trends, we will cover everything from the accessories to the shoes. For this part, here are the best things from the runways of Fall/Winter 2014-2015.
The complete knit: This is a trend that should captivate and enthral those who love the winter. The complete knit trend is all about the use of wool for the entire outfit, and we love the way both Stella McCartney and Marc Jacobs had their take on the trend. The same idea appeared at Céline, as well, while some hints can be taken from Paul Smith. While you can mix and match the top and bottom, the complete one colour look is no bad either!
The unique print fur: The large fur piece has always been the winter classic, and it remains the same, except for the fact that it has been reinterpreted in a new way. Check the collection at Alexander McQueen and Fendi, or you can take a hint from the designs at Just Cavalli, Pucci, and Versace. While the colours are quite something in some of the designs, McQueen played black and white for a classic twist. Don’t like fur? Well, we guess you will see plenty of the designs in faux fur, as well.
The overlong coat: We love the archetypal length of the overcoat that reaches the knees, but for Fall/Winter 2014-2015, the designers have come up with the extra long version. We must admit that the design looks quite cool. We found the hint at Miu Miu, Calvin Klein, but what we love is the one we saw at Céline and Christian Dior. Lanvin too did some classic work this season, coming away from the metallic trend last season.
The lust for gold: One of the best trends for the season was the coming of gold, which in many ways is a stunner for the season. The gold rush or call it the hint of partying can be seen in some of the most authentic collections, including in that of Saint Laurent, Chloé, and Prada. With twists and different hues, the trend was also seen at Dolce & Gabbana among others.
The touch of sports: Different interpretations of sportswear were seen at many designer collections with multiple blends. While some played with the sporty colours like red and blue, others liked the choice of multiple fabrics. We love the way both Miu Miu and Fendi have done with the look, with the former blending the colours right, while Louis Vuitton and T by Alexander Wang too had a good number of inspirations.
In our next series, it’s a new line of trends worth catching. Keep checking this space for more!
