Best Dressed At Oscars 2016 – Part 2
We are still reeling under the Oscar fever! In our last post, we talked of how some of the ladies stunned on the red carpet, and taking that post ahead, we will now look at others who made an impact. Get ready to take notes because there were quite a few statements worth checking from the gala evening.
Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein: The choice of a colour at the red carpet can change many things, and Saoirse Ronan surely showed the way. She picked a custom green outfit from in Calvin Klein. The good thing is she kept rest of the look pretty simple, with just dangle earrings and an easy hairdo. It is good to note here that sequins are a big option for major events, and when you choose something as dazzling and yet subtle as this one, you can easily create an impression with the least effort.
Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton: With an Oscar to go back home, Alicia Vikander looked stunning in Louis Vuitton. From the pretty closely lemon colour to the amazing volume elements of the outfit, she was looking a sure winner from the start. While, unlike other celebs, she didn’t choose to go completely in sequins, her dress did have elements of shimmer, which added a nice vibe. For a perfect with big hopes, this is what you call the outfit for sunshine.
Mindy Kaling in Elizabeth Kennedy: Talk of the daring looks at the event, and you have Mindy Kaling, who chose an Elizabeth Kennedy creation. Everything about the gown is edgy, and possibly, one can easily go wrong if the look was not balanced well. The good part is the way she carried it off, and that blue bow at the back of the outfit was simply worthy of a risk. If you want to experiment, this is an outfit that can give you serious goals.
Sofa Vergara in Marchesa: Apart from Brie Larson, there was one more lady who chose to wear blue. Yes, it was Sofa Vergara, who opted for a Marchesa outfit that worked wonders for her skin tone. Her blue was electric, but more on the darker side, but she ensured that the gown looked fabulous on her, with sleek hairdo and balanced makeup. Again, you can see elements of sequin here, but more in the muted way, just to add more elements to the colour, which otherwise may have looked boring.
Olivia Wilde in Valentino Couture: Lastly, it was Olivia Wilde who stunned in Valentino Couture. From the edgy neckline to the jewellery and clutch, she looked ravishing from head to toe. While others like Priyanka Chopra chose white, she was same for a very offbeat colour that doesn’t wash her off. Chopra’s outfit worked on her skin colour like magic, but Wilde was classier and probably very well balanced for a major event.
In the next post, we will talk of the celebs, who missed the mark at Oscars 2016. Keep an eye for that!
